One of the few remaining nice sized Royal ships.
Pleasantly surprised. I would sail on Vision again. I have not been happy with the larger Royal ships. However, this ship was very nice. Loved the lectures which were about outer space. They were by an astrophysicist. The food in the MDR was decent although a little hit or miss. We did most lunches in the specialty restaurants. They had good specials pre cruise. Really liked Izumi however we probably should have just done ala carte, way too much food on the fixed price option. Between Chops and Giovani we preferred Giovani for lunch. The shows we went to were exceeded expectations. The shows on the larger ships are showier however the performances on this ship were excellent. We had an Oceanview cabin on deck 2. The cabin itself was fine and so was the service. Only 2 downsides: they still use the clingy shower curtains (I hate them), and no mini fridge. The steward did bring us ice when we needed to chill a bottle of wine. Embarkation and disembarkation were good. The port of Baltimore is a good port to sail out of if you use your own car. There were only 2 downsides to the cruise. There was a significant vibration on the ship during the sail down to the Carribean. According to someone else on Cruise critic it has to due with propeller speed and some other factors. The cruise on the way back was much smoother. The other downside of the cruise, which is of course out of Royal's control and could happen on any cruise on any line, is someone got sick onboard and the ship had to make an emergency detour to San Juan. This added an extra day to a cruise that was pretty long in the first place. Service by ALL the staff was excellent.

A excellent cruise on the Vision of the Seas,
We had excellent time on the Vision. We love the Rockport band and the shows. The service was excellent. There were so many activities to do, was never bored. Room service was very good and our service at dinner was above excellent. We were at table 415, and the servers were fantastic. They were above a 10. My husband is a veteran and hello Clo had the best Veteran event. The schooner bar was so much fun, met so many nice people. We enjoyed the itinerary of the New England cruise, the was perfect. The head waiter came to our table every evening, and chief also. The music in dining room was wonderful and the waiters sang one of my favorite songs, I told him and he danced with me, what an enjoyable evening, I will never forget. We were on deck 3, our room steward did a wonderful job on our cabin, and it was our anniversary and to our surprise when w3 went into room it was decorated so nice and champagne, what a nice surprise that was. We enjoyed all the trivia, and the love and marriage show was one of the best, we laughed so hard. I did not win at the casino but did not lose much either, so it evened out. Thanks Royal Carriage for another great cruise.

Family Cruise - 3 generations
This was our first cruise in 5 years; our first post pandemic cruise. This was also our first cruise with extended family. Half of our group of 9 had never cruised before. We sailed from Baltimore to Bermuda on a 5 night cruise. The Baltimore cruise port is so easy to sail out of! We had received notice a few days prior to embarkation that our ship was being subjected to enhanced sanitation and that all embarkation times have been shifted 30 minutes later. We arrived to the port a little after 11 and had a few cars ahead of us but it was so well organized that by the time we dropped our bags, parked, went through security, we were ready to walk on the ship. Once we walked up the gangway they sent us to deck 5 to check in for muster. Electronic muster is a pearl of the pandemic! We all had watched the required video on our app earlier that day so all we had to do is have our set sail pass scanned. No more standing in line like sardines in the heat! It was a super hot day in port and I was so grateful for the improved muster. Originally we had booked a balcony for my husband and I and an inside cabin for our adult daughter. A week before our cruise Royal Caribbean reached out and offered us a free upgrade to a 2 bedroom grand suite on deck 7. Yes, please! We have always sailed inside cabins and this was such a treat! We were so spoiled. In fact, we may have been ruined now. Our room was so spacious and had so much storage. The extra perks of suite life were wonderful. We had expedited embarkation and debarkation, complimentary room service, upgraded bathroom amenities, happy hour, etc. Our whole family enjoyed the cruise. There was something for everyone. We took part in trivia, the entertainment in the centrum, and the nightly shows in the theater. Those who wanted to hang by the pool did so and those who wanted a quieter nook could find that as well. We all met each night for dinner at 5:15 in the Main Dining Room. John and Nan were our wait staff team and they were terrific. Our group of nine was seated at a large round table by the window and it was great. The food was good; everyone was able to find something to their liking. Bermuda is gorgeous. The water is the most beautiful aquamarine. The island is clean, safe and friendly. We were in port for about 24 hours. On our first afternoon we took the ferry to Hamilton. It was so easy. We bought our tokens at the visitor center on the pier next to the ferry stop. We walked around Front Street for few hours and then took the ferry back to the pier. It couldn't have been easier. The next day, we booked a ship excursion to Crystal Caves and the Aquarium/Zoo. Lee Tucker was our minibus driver and tour guide. He was terrific and informative. The excursion was great and he had us back with time to spare for our 12 o'clock all aboard time. The staff of Vision of the Seas is exceptional. It is a smaller, older ship but we love it! We love sitting out on deck 5 watching the waves. The entertainment in the main theater was good. On our last night at dinner, our whole family talked about when we should do this again!
