I enjoyed most of the cruise, including the entertainment and some of the restaurants. However, the food buffets on the ship were nothing to brag about. I have had better on other cruise ships. They had a variety of dishes, but some of them tasted and looked like leftovers from the day before. The cabin was terrific, but the bathroom, especially the shower, was a bit too small. I do not recall the shower being that small on my other cruises, but I could be wrong. I visited the spa because I wanted to have a massage, but instead, I had a very beneficial acupuncture treatment, and it helped me to do some activities I had problems with before I boarded the ship. The assigned cabin steward was pleasant and always there when we needed something. The guest service desk employees were always friendly when they helped you. The only other part I did not like was the rocking, which reminded me of turbulence on an aircraft.

A GREAT CRUISE!

Absolutely wonderful cruise from start to finish! Ship is in fine condition very well maintained! Our reserve class mini suite had all new furniture and the large balcony was sweet. The internet staff was most helpful with a illiterate computer guy like me! the food was good to very good in both buffet and reserve dining. Embarkation in Civit. was the fastest ever. (Disembarkation in FFL) was very fast. we don't do shows so I can't comment on the theater. we enjoyed the elite lounge every evening and the staff was really great As always the ENTIRE crew was incredible! They re the reason we mainly cruise with princess. If you are into the big ship bells and whistles, this isn't the ship for you. The only complaint I had was the indoor smoking area on deck 7. Although a separate ventilated room, the smokers room door was occasionally stuck open and it certainly stunk up anything close by.

Tremendous Cruise

Embarkation quick and easy. princess app was quite good, used it a lot. internet was amazing everywhere. it kept us dialed in to our loved ones at home, in real time, day or night 10/10. Baja room. perfect cabin with great patio, spent lots of time watching the ocean from it. awesome bed. Sunny was our room steward, and he was fantastic 10/10. Service - all food and bars and drinks around pool area were great 10/10 for servers and staff. would say when ordered drinks on princess app 7/10, often didn't arrive, or was quite long. staff at service desk and all others top notch. Activities - activities were good, we always had something to do, or to not do. production show was decent. comedians, ventriloquist, magicians, and all 80s music trivia games were great. if you can't find something to do on this ship you aren't trying very hard 10/10. Pool sucked - it needs to be heated!!! i love pools on vacation, this time of year couldn't use it, it was freezing. Disappointed. if you have kids, you will be too. 0/10. Dining - 9/10 dining room great, 10/10 sabatini's great, crown grill - best meal of the cruise 12/10. major issue with $15-$25 usd steak/lobster upcharges everywhere...this is stupid nickel and diming... Just charge me $200 more for the cruise. Bad, bad look princess. You are trying too come off as posh or elegant, but this cheapens that in my opinion. Tours - game of thrones in dubvrovnik (favorite) 12/10. oia/fira santorini (one of the most beautiful things we have ever seen) 12/10, ephesus in kusadasi (so impressive) 10/10, ravenna/san marino (san marino tour is a hidden gem - such a neat place) 10/10. would do all again. did not get off in istanbul. Disembarkation - really fast and efficient. used princess transfer shuttle to airport fantastic, must do. no stress whatsoever 10/10. Other tips - i am used to caribbean cruises. i should have went a few weeks earlier, to avoid rainy/cloudy and more below average temperatures. but clearly not princess' fault. even with that said, its still a cruise.... I loved the ship. i loved the cruise itinerary and tours . loved the food and services. will absolutely travel again with princess. but, princess fix your shortcomings...

Grand Old Lady

The Island is a great ship. The size makes her easy to navigate. Although she doesn't have all the bells and whistles that many newer ships have, she makes up for it with the incredible service. Princess still services the cabin twice daily which is wonderful. The dining room service was impeccable. We spent many nights in Crooners where the piano man, Don Juan, was a great entertainer. It was always crowded and had a great bar staff. This was my 42nd cruise and was one of the best lines. The 21 days flew by and I wouldn't hesitate to sail her again. Disembarkation was seamless and well organized.. The busses were waiting to take us to Heathrow. I love Princess cruises. We were two senior women and the storage space was more than adequate. The bathroom was small, but there was plenty of hot water and enough room for our stuff.
