Do NOT load HAL navigator with Google Play.

Do not use google play to install navigator! my andriod kept getting a message about not being compatible. I was so upset. pissed!! google play has a bug. the guest services "expert" loaded it using google chrome from the hal site. 3. Minutes. it has worked flawlessly since. now we can send texts immediately to each other about where we are at. Onboard. Only issue is the size of text is small so wear your readers. but it has worked!!!!! hal needs to remove the google play link. Cruise-wise, the ship is clean. Crew always professional. Activities of many varieties fill the day. if you have mobility issues, it can be a challenge. the seas were expected to be choppy, no surprise there.. Excursions have been good. Complimentary booze is adequate unless you drink more than 15 beers/shots/wines a day. save your money. again, don't use google play to load navigator. my old lg phone has now worked just fine. my wife's iphone never had an issue. tell others as it seems that bug is a pain. two thumbs up.

Excellent experience in the two-week S. America

2024 South America cruise. Chose cruise for its itinerary. Oosterman proved a very pleasant surprise. Entire ship was in excellent condition. Activities - good mix and didn't feel bored for the two-week cruise. - good excursions mix for active and less active participants. Did enjoy the reiver rafting, expected lazy river and got level 3 white water rafting. Other, active excursions were also very good. - arrived at all planned ports. Service - the Navigator app on Android kept disconnecting. Another reviewer recommended to install the app directly from the HAL site. I do agree with the same reviewer that the text size is small and being grey on grey, difficult to read without glasses. Cabin - no issues with the smaller balcony cabin. Couple areas on the ship had some leaks and the ship is going to a dry dock for repairs in the spring of 2025. Dining - very good choices in the buffet and dining room. Very good service. Entertainment - good choices. Disembarkation - very quick at 3 AM

Best Mediterranean Cruise

Was an Excellent experience all the way around from beginning to end. All crew provided exceptional service. Nice specialty Iron Chef Morimoto pop up restaurant was a fun and epicurean experience we won’t forget. All timings for ports were correct and on time. Tours were well organized and there was plenty of activities all day and night on the ship. Dining options and food were European standard and five star. Room stewards were always around to fulfill whatever you needed. I’m just home and thinking about taking this same trip next year! If you’re not used to sailing then I would suggest getting a room in the middle of the ship. The beverage package is a plus whether you drink or not, it’s nice to have canned still water in your room and for excursions. I liked that they had origami class among other classes. Shows were appropriate and entertaining. They also had a full library on this ship for readers. Their barista making coffee drinks was excellent!

Great Italy and Adriatic cruise!

Excellent cruise and itinerary. Weather was great. It was hot but it is summer after all. Cruise ship was great. Service and food were fantastic. Had some good excursions, but also just visited old town centers in some of the ports. One thing that was a plus is that all the ports were very picturesque so always a beautiful sight from the ship. Tendered at three ports and it was easy and smooth. No problems at all. We had an aft balcony which made our cruise delightful. My second cruise on Holland America.Great dinner in Pinnacle. Main dining room was ok. Only ate on there once. Lido was fine. Neptune Lounge service was excellent as was room service. Had breakfast delivered often. Highly recommend a Neptune Suite. It was so nice and a treat for us and worth the extra money. Loved that Mass is celebrated on this ship daily! Disembarkation was smooth.
