Some Navigator reviews inaccurate and unfair

After we booked and paid in full for our cabin, we were alarmed that some of the reviews about the Navigator complained about excessive vibration in the rear and excessive motion when at sea. We did not experience either of these problems. Vibration was only noticeable at normal times when the ship was maneuvering in and out of port. As for motion at sea, we found it perfectly normal for a ship that size, and we are veterans of 30 cruises. We loved the Navigator. It was elegant, as of course are all Regent ships. The food and service were wonderful. As seems to usually be the case on Regent, there were numerous port stops in our 10-night cruise. Only one sea day. At more than half the stops, we were the only cruise ship in port. Some couldn't accommodate larger ships. One of the most interesting would not take ships with a capacity of over 500 passengers. over 500 passengers Regent remains our #1 choice.

All in all Excellent

Regent certainly isn't a value cruise but we were delighted by everything. The food was fantastic at all venues but especially so at the Prime steak house. Our suite was better.than described. Breakfast in the room always arrives in a timely manner. The staff really do look after you and we left very happy indeed Only gripe was the entertainment, the shows were amature, with the exception of the comedian who was brilliant. The last live music stopped at 23:15 latest, its not for night owls. There was a mix of ages but the average seemed to over 70. Be careful in your choice of included excursions. The lake and wine tasting alternative to Rome was rubbish and so was the the trip to Saint Tropez (virtually closed). We didn't even get the guided walk that was promised Trips to Pisa, Lucca and Aix en Provence were fantastic and great places to experience.

What a Pleasant Surprise

After reading some very negative reviews about the ship our experience was the complete opposite. Everything from the pre-cruise hotel, flights, boarding, excursions, disembarkation to airport transfer worked seamlessly. And of course as others have noted, the staff were wonderful. We were in a Penthouse Suite on Deck 10 which was quite spacious compared with cabins on other cruise lines we have experienced. It was professionally serviced and nothing was too much trouble. One slight negative was that the cabin walls are not that soundproof, so we were able to hear raised voices of our next door neighbours. We were well satisfied with the quality and variety of the dining options and we had no complaints about the supply of wine in any of the dining venues. The specific dietary requirements of one of us were very well catered for and the on the couple of occasions that we requsted room service it arrived promptly and at thr right temperature. To summarise, this is not a new ship and this is partly reflected in the price of this ship's cruises. Occasionally we felt a little vibration from the engines but nothing serious. This was our first cruise with Regent Seven Seas and it will certainly not be our last.
