2-5 Cruises: 60s

Good times!!

This is my 2nd cruise on Virgin and I loved it! Everything was as excellent, The food, the entertainment, and the crew was especially friendly and helpful. I will definitely go on a 3rd Virgin Voyage!!! we had a group of 10, and we were able to do and see what we wanted and got dinner reservations' too! Our group was able to secure a cabana using sailor loot we had from our previous cruise and we really enjoyed it! We met awesome people from all over the world, and had some interesting conversations. I liked Puerto Plata, Bimini was O.K..,I It was really windy but that's the weather for you!!!!! Overall, it was a very good experience, Virgin is the only cruise line I have ever been on, so I think I'm spoiled now!!!!!!! I Will book again on a different route this time!!! I have no major complaints ! I loved my cruise with Virgin Voyages!!!

Valiant Lady - Domenican Daze

This was my husband’s and my first cruise ever, and we are absolutely fascinated by the experience! Virgin Voyages is truly worth every bit of it— from the food to the shows, and the outstanding staff throughout. We even made some friends along the way who mentioned they had sailed with other lines before but, after trying Virgin, they wouldn’t go on any other. While I can’t personally compare it to other cruises, all I can say is, WOW! The experience was nothing short of phenomenal. If you’re sailing on the Valiant Lady, don’t miss out on the acapella group The Magnets—their shows were hands-down the best, and we did all the shows on board. We were so impressed that we even went to both of their performances! If you’re on the fence about booking a Virgin Voyage cruise, don’t hesitate! It’s SO worth it! Also, the entire cruise was spotlessly clean, and the food was incredible!

WAY more hits than misses, well done Virgin Voyage

Wow, this was a fabulous surprise! We did not really know what to expect with Virgin Voyages beyond it being kids-free and largely inclusive of food and sodas. What we did not know was how quirky and entertaining the shows would turn out to be, nor how delightful the food would be on board. Also, the crew are truly permitted to be themselves and it shows. It creates a warm, inclusive and inviting atmosphere that feels playful, fun and easy-going. We really enjoyed the on-board atmosphere a lot. The food was definitely the highlight for us. We tried these restaurants: 1) Pink Agave - our favorite! It was amazing. We tried to go again several times but were unable due to its popularity. I see why! The fish dish I had was great. The corn and guacamole dishes were also AMAZING. 2) The Wake - we only had brunch here. Definitely the most stylish and sexy of the restaurants. The brunch menu had some nice items on it. Great service, love the views and the bright atmosphere. 3) Gunbae - we were a bit skeptical of this one going in. We were traveling together. Tables at Gunbae are all shared so we ended up with two other couples sharing. The experience here was A+. Super fun atmosphere. They break the group table ice with a fun drinking game (alcoholic or non-alcoholic option available, both included). The food was excellent and the service was fantastic. 4) Razzle Dazzle - we ended up eating here multiple times, including twice for dinner and once for brunch. The menu is diverse and includes a ton of vegan/vegetarian options. Service was super quick and the food was excellent. The tuna tartare was our favorite, we ordered it multiple times! 5) The Test Kitchen - meh. Fun experience, again at a shared table in our case. We had fun as a group, mostly over the shared experience of the bad food. Even the server was apologetic about it. The food was not our taste at all, but we enjoyed it nonetheless. 6) It's a Ship Show - technically not a restaurant, but it's the included dinner variety show. The menu is set. A vegetable salad or tomato/burrata salad followed by either sea bass (Branzino) or roast chicken. We tried all of the items. They were fine, not super memorable food. The show on the other hand was AWESOME. Weird, quirky and a little raunchy here and there. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea but we found it delightful. 7) The Galley - the not-a-cruise-buffet food hall. Lots of options from noodles to tacos to salads and hot dishes, plus sushi and an excellent patisserie. Some things better than others obviously, but we always found something to our liking for breakfast or lunch here. 8)Pizza - deck 7, made to order. Wasn't our favorite pizza at sea (that prize still goes to Princess). 9) Poke - deck 16, lunch'ish only. We only tried this once and didn't care for it. The tuna tartare in Razzle Dazzle is far superior. We had a Sea Terrace and found it sufficient. It's a smart space, clean and spacious enough. Tiny (TINY) bathroom but functional. Some nice touches like the touchscreen room control pad and hammock. We ended up buying two hammocks from the company that makes them for Virgin! OK so those are the highlights. A few things we didn't like, but wouldn't deter us from future Virgin Voyages: - Useless pool. We're fitness people and like to get in laps. No chance in this pool even when it's empty (which it won't be, more often than not). Somewhat balanced by the extraordinary gym on board. - Seating around the ship - there just isn't a ton of comfortable outdoor seating. Seats are either low to the ground or oddly designed. Not a big deal but it's frankly a bit hard to find a place to curl up with a book on a sea day. There are some spaces on deck 7 that are most suited but were accordingly pretty busy. - Live music - Virgin's heritage is live music. We found a lack of it around happy hour (at least OUR preferred happy hour time, around 5:30-6:30). There were not a ton of live performances anywhere at that time of day. Would love more live music. That's it. We're booking with them again and will look forward to the experience.
