Small but Mighty
This was our first time on a small ship and we enjoyed the level of personal service we received compared to larger ships where you get lost in the numbers. The MDR crew was exceptional, so much so that we want to return soon just to see them again. The entertainment was just enough for us; certainly there is more to do on the larger ships, but there was always plenty to choose from each day and evening. Their house band Rockport is awesome and fun and engages with the crowd. The cruise director and various activities personnel are very energetic, engaging, entertaining and you can tell they enjoy working the crowd. We did not opt for a balcony this time, choosing an ocean view room instead. A bit of concern going in quickly gave way to a surprisingly spacious room with plenty of closet space, drawers and cubbies for all our "stuff". Fun cruise that we didn't want to end.

One of the few remaining nice sized Royal ships.
Pleasantly surprised. I would sail on Vision again. I have not been happy with the larger Royal ships. However, this ship was very nice. Loved the lectures which were about outer space. They were by an astrophysicist. The food in the MDR was decent although a little hit or miss. We did most lunches in the specialty restaurants. They had good specials pre cruise. Really liked Izumi however we probably should have just done ala carte, way too much food on the fixed price option. Between Chops and Giovani we preferred Giovani for lunch. The shows we went to were exceeded expectations. The shows on the larger ships are showier however the performances on this ship were excellent. We had an Oceanview cabin on deck 2. The cabin itself was fine and so was the service. Only 2 downsides: they still use the clingy shower curtains (I hate them), and no mini fridge. The steward did bring us ice when we needed to chill a bottle of wine. Embarkation and disembarkation were good. The port of Baltimore is a good port to sail out of if you use your own car. There were only 2 downsides to the cruise. There was a significant vibration on the ship during the sail down to the Carribean. According to someone else on Cruise critic it has to due with propeller speed and some other factors. The cruise on the way back was much smoother. The other downside of the cruise, which is of course out of Royal's control and could happen on any cruise on any line, is someone got sick onboard and the ship had to make an emergency detour to San Juan. This added an extra day to a cruise that was pretty long in the first place. Service by ALL the staff was excellent.

A excellent cruise on the Vision of the Seas,
We had excellent time on the Vision. We love the Rockport band and the shows. The service was excellent. There were so many activities to do, was never bored. Room service was very good and our service at dinner was above excellent. We were at table 415, and the servers were fantastic. They were above a 10. My husband is a veteran and hello Clo had the best Veteran event. The schooner bar was so much fun, met so many nice people. We enjoyed the itinerary of the New England cruise, the was perfect. The head waiter came to our table every evening, and chief also. The music in dining room was wonderful and the waiters sang one of my favorite songs, I told him and he danced with me, what an enjoyable evening, I will never forget. We were on deck 3, our room steward did a wonderful job on our cabin, and it was our anniversary and to our surprise when w3 went into room it was decorated so nice and champagne, what a nice surprise that was. We enjoyed all the trivia, and the love and marriage show was one of the best, we laughed so hard. I did not win at the casino but did not lose much either, so it evened out. Thanks Royal Carriage for another great cruise.
