CocoCay: A look at Royal Caribbean's private Bahamas island

Perfect Day at CocoCay is Royal Caribbean's private island in the Bahamas, reserved exclusively for cruise ship guests. At almost 1 mile long, CocoCay is walkable but also features a free tram to help you travel to further away destinations on the island. Depending on your itinerary, most ships tend to dock for around 8-10 hours, allowing you a full day of fun in the sun. Whether you're looking to relax on one of the six stunning sandy beaches, explore the Thrill Water Park, or take a dip in the largest fresh water pool in the Caribbean, there's plenty of options for how you can enjoy your holiday in style. What's Included?

Royal Caribbean guests get many perks at CocoCay included for no extra charge, including:

• Free dining: 3 snack shack locations, and 2 buffets

• 5 free beaches

• Oasis Lagoon - largest fresh water pool in the Caribbean

• Captain Jill's Galleon & Splashaway Bay - 2 aqua parks for kids

• Free tram

• Loungers & umbrellas

• Beach towels

For passengers who have purchased drinks packages on board the ship, these will also be valid at CocoCay for no extra charge.

Oasis Lagoon

Oasis Lagoon is CocoCay's fresh water pool which encompasses over 33,000 square feet - it's massive. Featuring 3 swim-up islands with bars, multiple coves, and in-water seating and tables. There are even partially submerged loungers lining the perimeter of the pool so you can kick back and laze in the water.

If you have young children there is a cove with sloping entry designed with little swimmers in mind, but the whole pool area is family friendly.

There is also complimentary towel station nearby, as well as a Snack Shack which serves complimentary hot dogs, burgers, salads and more.

Thrill Water Park

Featuring 14 water slides, the largest wave pool in the Caribbean, and Tailspin, a four-person raft slide, and a kid-friendly Adventure Pool, Thrill Water Park has activities for guests of all ages. Entry to the park is an additional fee, and we recommend that you book in advance as spaces are limited and may sell out.

There is also complimentary beach chairs, and a nearby Snack Shack for food.

Coco Beach Club

Coco Beach Club is a private beach club for those who want an extra VIP experience. Available for an additional fee, Coco Beach Club includes a powder sand beach only accessible to paying guests, an infinity pool overlooking the ocean, and elevated complimentary dining at the Coco Beach Club restaurant.

There are even Overwater Cabanas available for an additional fee, which include private showers, Bluetooth speakers, and your own personal slide into the ocean. Luxury!

Excursions

If that wasn't enough to explore already - Royal Caribbean also offer a broad selection of excursions available at an additional fee. Whether you want to sail the Bahamas on a bottomless boat, splash into the crystal clear water and go snorkelling, or even take a trip to a nearby island to take a dip with the swimming pigs, there are so many options available to help you make the most of your trip!
