FAQ: P&O - Internet access
If you are planning to get on a cruise with P&O and are concerned about being able to use the Internet to work, to stay connected with the ones close to you, or just for personal entertainment, you need to know staying connected at sea has never been easier.
Whether you are checking emails, streaming your favourite shows, or video calling loved ones, P&O Cruises offers flexible and reliable Wi-Fi options to suit every type of traveller. The guide below answers all your questions about Wi-Fi packages, pricing, coverage, and how to stay online during your cruise. What Wi-Fi packages are available on P&O Cruises?
P&O Cruises offers two Wi-Fi packages to suit different connectivity needs:
- Essential Wi-Fi Package: Suitable for web browsing, email, social media, and sending texts and images.
- Ultimate Wi-Fi Package: Includes all features of the Essential package, plus music and video streaming, voice and video calls, and complimentary access to The Times online.

How much do the Wi-Fi packages cost?
- Essential Wi-Fi Package: £14 per day when purchased for the entire cruise, £20 per day on a pay-as-you-go basis.
- Ultimate Wi-Fi Package: £20 per day when purchased for the entire cruise, £30 per day on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Can I purchase Wi-Fi packages before my cruise?
Yes, you can purchase Wi-Fi packages via your My P&O Cruises account up to three days before your cruise and save 15% or more. Alternatively, packages can be purchased on board via the My Holiday web app.
Is the Wi-Fi coverage available throughout the ship?
Yes, the Wi-Fi extends to every corner of the ship, allowing you to access it conveniently from your cabin or any other location on board.
Can I use multiple devices with one Wi-Fi package?
You may use multiple devices on one package but can only use a single device at any one time. If you wish to use multiple devices simultaneously, you will need to buy a multi-device package, which is available at a reduced per-device rate.
Is the Wi-Fi connection reliable and fast?
P&O Cruises’ Wi-Fi is powered and enhanced by Starlink, providing a high-speed connection. However, as the service relies on satellite technology, connection speeds may vary and can occasionally be impacted by weather or the ship’s position.

Are there any limitations to the Wi-Fi service?
Yes, some websites and categories of websites are blocked, including adult content, online gambling, and file sharing. Additionally, some internet services such as Wi-Fi (VoIP) calling and remote desktop connections may not be available. Essential plans don’t allow for VPNs, while Ultimate plans do, but some may not be available.
Can I use my mobile phone’s data while at sea?
While at sea, you can use your mobile phone to make and receive calls, as well as send SMS and MMS. However, roaming rates can differ significantly, so it’s advisable to check with your mobile operator. To avoid unexpected charges, you can turn off mobile data and roaming.
How do I purchase a Wi-Fi package once on board?
Once on board, you can purchase a Wi-Fi package via the My Holiday web app. Simply connect to the ship’s free Wi-Fi network and follow the on-screen instructions to purchase a package.
Is there a refund policy for Wi-Fi packages?
Pre-booked packages can be cancelled and refunded in full to the original debit/credit card up to three days prior to departure. If you experience issues with the Wi-Fi once on board, please contact Reception for assistance.
Can I change my Wi-Fi plan during the cruise?
Yes, if you purchased the pay-as-you-go option, you can change your Wi-Fi plan to cover your entire cruise at any point during the cruise, purchasing internet for all remaining days at the reduced rate. You can also upgrade from the Essential Wi-Fi package to the Ultimate Wi-Fi package at any time throughout your cruise.

Will I be able to use my Wi-Fi package when I am ashore?
No, My Wi-Fi is only available to use when on board.
How do I get charged for the Wi-Fi package?
Wi-Fi packages purchased before sailing are charged to a valid credit/debit card prior to the start of your cruise. Packages booked once the cruise has started will be added to your on-board account.
Will I be charged by my phone company if I connect to the ship’s Wi-Fi?
No, you will not be charged by your phone company for connecting to the ship’s Wi-Fi. However, ensure that you are not using mobile data from your service provider to avoid additional charges.
With tailored Wi-Fi packages, full ship coverage, and the power of Starlink, P&O Cruises ensures you’re always just a click away from the world.
